I discovered Steve Magness's "The Science of Running" and dove deep into the training methodology. Steve describes Mixed Periodization, a system popularized by legendary Italian coach Renato Canova that has produced countless Olympic medals and World Records. I'm constantly learning and expanding my knowledge through the Science of Running and High Performance West - Scholars Program. This system forms the foundation of how I coach all my athletes, from high schoolers to Boston Qualifiers.
